Nearly every part of the Humboldt County Fairgrounds is available for rent for events, celebrations, or meetings outside of the annual fair. These buildings have their own rates and fees based on the size of the space you are interested in. Feel free to call our Assistant Office Manager to get started with an event rental, but worry not - any of our office staff are happy to assist you in learning about what we have available for your special event; just give us a call or come by! In order to process an application for use of the Fairgrounds, please complete the following application as thoroughly as possible - if you don't have an answer for a section then we can discuss it as we move forward with your rental. Several documents will be required in order for your event to be approved, providing that your requested dates are available:


  • HCFA Event Rental Application and $25 Application Fee.

(Room or Building Rental Application or Minor and Major Event Rental Application)

  • A deposit of $200 is required to hold your event date and building. This amount goes toward your event rental fee.
  • HCFA Rental Agreement for your event will be created in the office upon confirmation of intent for your event.
  • An invoice for the total balance due for your event will be generated in the office and must be paid in full to receive the keys for your rental.
  • Certificate of Liability with the Humboldt County Fair Association listed as additionally insured for no less than 1 million per occurrence.
  • You can purchase coverage for your event through HCFA's insurance provider CFSA if you prefer, rates are dependent on how many guests will attend your event. (Form Here)
  • Security is required for most events, some can be waived, but ALL must be reviewed and approved by Ferndale Police. The signed form is due back to the Fair Business Office at least two weeks before your event. (Form Here)
  • If your event sells products or alcohol, you will need a Seller's Permit and an ABC License under the name of the individual on the contract.
  • If your event will have Vendors or third-party on-site services, there is an additional fee and will require a Certificate of Liability Insurance as well. (Form Here)
